Cliff Diving
Man I have some talented friends. I haven't seen Joey Zuber for some years as he's been on the international cliff diving circuit. Here's a show reel of some of his best dives. These guys are just incredible!

NickCheckout my ace pal and Bond stunt double Ben Cooke being interviewed for the Quantum of Solace blog. The movie comes out next month in the UK. Ben is a stunning martial artist and is currently doubling Jake Gyllenhaal on Prince of Persia. And yes...he really is always that energetic!

Check out this great montage of some of Buster Keaton's work in films. Man would I like to have a showreel half as good as this!
NickHere's some classic footage from 'Spills for Thrills' (what a great name!) with stuntwoman Mary Wiggins and stuntman Harvey Parry. Mary was one of the very first Hollywood stunt girls. I don't know the circumstances of Mary's unfortunate death but she apparantly committed suicide aged just 36. Harvey went on to a glorious career with classic films like Spartacus, Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Bonnie and Clyde, Blazing Saddles and was still performing stunts in his 80's in Raging Bull and Escape from New York.
Here's Mary and Harvey from the 40's...
NickSomehow I missed this but David Horne put me onto this awesome bike jumping from Robbie Maddison. This is the practice footage and the show footage. Simply AWESOME!

Allen asked for the list of film clips in my new show reel.
Munich - Steven Spielberg
The Golden Compass - Chris Weitz
Troy - Wolfgang Peterson
Scooby Doo - Raja Gosnell
The Chronicles of Narnia - Andrew Adamson
The Matrix Reloaded - The Wachowski Brothers
Beastmaster - series 1,2,3
The Lost World - series 1,2,3
Fortunes Commercial
Invincible - Jefery Levy
In Hell - Ringo Lam
Crocodile Dundee in LA - Simon Wincer
Various other pieces were shot during training or competition, such as the Weight for Height which was at Aberdeen in Australia in 2006. I should also mention that much of the action was shot by 2nd Unit/Action Directors such as Simon Crane, Vic Armstrong and Ian 'Thistle' Thorburn. This the TRUE art of action and stunt performance.
These are just the pieces of action I chose to use for this reel. For those interested my full credit list is on IMDB or on my website at www.nickmckinless.com.

I've been working on a new stunt show reel over the past week and although I am not totally happy with it I thought loyal Beyond Strong readers might like to see it. Here it is. (You''ll need Quicktime to play it I think). Enjoy!

I was trawling you tube and found a great little video in honour of Jackie Chan, one of the all time greatest stuntmen and action actors.
There would have been a few different choice from myself (like the wind tunnel scene from Armour of God 2) but this is cool.
Then as a second treat...here's a similar compilation of fight scenes showing Jackie's incredible agility, speed and resilience to pain. And yes...Jackie does lift weights as well.

My good friend, stunt coordinator, stuntman and general good guy, Spike Cherrie, sent me a brilliant Xmas message I thought you'd all enjoy.
Once a stuntman always a stuntman I guess?!?!

The stupidity of some people is simply mind boggling. This was one of those internet scammers who got scammed back! Do not, I repeat, DO NOT try any of these stunts thinking that is what stunts is about. Stuntmen train for YEARS to become proficient in everything from falling, fighting, fighting, water sports, driving, martial arts and much, much more. Stuntmen are true all round athletes. This guy is NOT. Enjoy!
