Although not a "power" clean, but a clean and jerk, arguably one of the best Olympic lifters of all time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgcsKCXnAeA

Also, I respectfully disagree with you on point number 3 under power clean. Without proper coaching and technique one may inflict serious bodily harm. Please don't discount coaching and technique.

Hi David,

There was no discounting of coaching. In fact point 3 mentions coaching.

Whilst I agree that coaching is of value, I also understand that most people just don't have that option available to them.

I taught myself the Power Clean before I gained the necessary Weight Lifting qualifications (many, many years ago now).

The Power Clean is an athletic movement though so I understand your concern but in no way was I discounting the value of coaching.

Thanks.

I must admit Nick i love these exercises and it's improved my over all strength no end, i intend to make these a regular movement in my training.

Nick, I stumbled on this site at the right time. Good posts. I have some questions, though.

First, I am inexperienced with the PC and the PP. PC Techinique: Do I stand with feet at shoulder width and grip the bar wider than shoulder width? Or vise-versa?

Second: What is the difference between a PP and a military press? Or is there a difference?

Third: Does the PC include the PP, which is what is demonstrated in the ESPN classic video of the 500 lb press you posted?

Thanks!

Mike

By the way, I tried both techniques regarding grip and stance, and I felt much stronger with feet at shoulder width and hands wider than. Today was a first try, and you're right, I'm huffin' and puffin'

I would just like to add that dumbbell snatches are an excellent addition to PC and PP for overall strength and explosiveness.

look, all i have to say is that the powerclean is the most efficient exersize.
1- increases endurence
2-muscle stamina
3-power.
